When districts accept the Mandate Block Grant, they are signing a declaration stating that they are complying with the 42 current laws that comprise the block grant. Ask yourself, are you in full compliance with these laws? Are you aware of the lawsuits that are cropping up around these laws from teachers, parents, and other advocacy groups? Do you know who is training your staff about the mandated laws and are you assuring compliance? And lastly, are you also assuring your board that you aren’t taking a risk by not providing professional development for you staff, especially on the health and safety mandates?
Please join David Flores, Chief Business Official, Shasta Union High School District and Tony Shirvanian, Operations Manager - Program Advisor, SI&A, to hear strategies for creating a defensible position and how to keep the revenue flowing for your district. You will walk away with a better understanding of the State Mandated Cost program and you will receive one hour of CASBO CEU credits for your attendance.
